The Context

Bali Art Villa represents a complex residential development where bold architecture and technical precision come together in a cohesive and refined outcome

Bali Art Villa Pecatu is a four unit villa development consisting of two two-bedroom villas and two four-bedroom villas, based on an architectural design by Design by Weld. The project carries a modern minimalist language with a strong sense of masculinity, clarity, and understated luxury. Architecturally, the composition emphasizes clean and assertive forms, with a design approach centered on proportion, materiality, and carefully framed views. Openings are generous yet controlled in their orientation, allowing the villas to capture the surrounding landscape while maintaining privacy for each resident. The roof design is also kept visually open toward the main view direction, reinforcing a strong connection between the architecture and its environment. During the tender process, the design was further adjusted in close coordination with the architect to remain aligned with the project’s budget target without compromising its overall character. These refinements were made selectively, focusing on materials and details that would not affect the primary spatial experience. This included simplifying certain finishes, replacing selected elements with more efficient alternatives, and adjusting door and flooring specifications to maintain visual consistency throughout the project. Before construction began, we carried out a thorough verification of the 2D drawings, 3D model, and site data to ensure that every design element could be executed accurately. In the development of the technical drawings, several differences across disciplines, particularly within the MEP scope, were resolved through intensive coordination, allowing the construction process to move forward more smoothly on site. From a construction perspective, the site’s relatively steep contour required special attention during setting out and substructure works. Even so, through careful coordination between design and construction, Bali Art Villa Pecatu progressed steadily while preserving the architectural intent established from the outset.
